Chakana Maipe Malbec Reserve
The range here can be a bit confusing as the names are similar, this is the 2014 Maipe Malbec Reserve, which differs from the straight Maipe Malbec in the aging. This was bottled in March 2015 after one year élevage in a mixture of oak and cement, while the regular one was bottled much earlier. The wine is fruit-driven with shiny aromas of cherries and hints of flowers plus a pinch of spices. The palate is round and juicy, with sweet tannins, moderate acidity and well-integrated oak. This is noticeably less influenced by the oak than previously.
